Kennelly Fundraiser at Twins vs. White Sox Game – July 23rd

As most of you are aware, the son of Kevin Kennelly, one of our club’s founders, was killed as the result of a tragic incident in Long Beach, Indiana last summer. Kevin Jr. was a student-athlete at Mount Carmel High School. Click on the link below for the details on the July 23rd fundraiser. We’re sure that the South Side Irish RFC will make a strong showing to support Kevin, his wife Jean and the scholarship fund. Following is a letter from Kevin Jr’s aunt and uncle, Loretta and Joe Kennelly – another of our founders.

Midwest Playoffs
The Irish play Wisconsin this Saturday April 28th in Elkhart Indiana at 2pm Central for a chance to go to the Sweet 16′s for Nationals. Come out and support the team!
Spring Playoffs
Irish Win!!!
The Irish won their first playoff game on April 14Th against Michiana 48-28. The Irish came back from a 21-17 halftime score to win. The whole team put in some hard work with the scrums doing well, Dan Joda,Lachlan Webb and Brendan Meaney at the breakdown and some fine running in the back-line from Chris Lynch and Joe McQuiade. We will be back down in Elkhart IN on April 28Th to face Wisconsin RFC. ALL OLD BOYS are welcome to come down and cheer the boys on.

We will be training for the rest of the season at Mt Greenwood Park 111th and Lawndale Chicago IL. Tuesday and Thursday 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

9th Annual South Side Irish Whiskey 10′s Tournament
We had a very successful Whiskey 10′s this year with with 39 teams, good weather and the return of the South Side Irish parade. The party was a great time as well. We can use this for recruiting with a lot of the colleges already saying they want to come back for 2013. We are hoping to expand the tournament next year and make it bigger and better than ever.
